Review By: Downtown Diane

The Baltimore Children's Theatre presents Charlie and
the Chocolate Factory, an absolutely "delicious" way to spend an
afternoon. I had the chance to see the opening performance and it was adorable.
Mark Andrew Beachy, Producer/Director, did a fabulous job with the cast. The
children are funny and perfectly cast. The adults are just as fun to watch.
Willy Wonka (Ed Higgins) is charming as Wonka and the "Candy Man,"
his songs are sure to bring a smile to your face. Charlie (Ryan Patrick) and
Grandpa Joe (Fred Grant) are a convincing pair, they work well together.
Augustus Gloop (Scott AuCoin) and his Mom, Mrs. Gloop (Anita Lane) are
extremely entertaining. The audience joined in on several songs, singing and
clapping and enjoying the candy kisses passed out throughout the show. In
addition, I want to give credit to the Oompa-Loompas, they were very cute and
helped make the show a success. Don't miss this "sweet"
production, perfect for the entire family.
Call 410-203-1757 for times and dates. Runs at The Slayton House in Columbia
then moves on to The Baltimore Museum of Art.
